Academics, academics, academics. I can hear families skip this paragraph. Don’t.
Freshman and sophomore grades are the foundation. You cannot panic-GPA your way out of a 2.4 in the summer before senior year and call it a plan.
Coaches read transcripts two ways. Can we get him eligible. And what kind of kid is this. A transcript is character on paper.
Start the school list with places that fit him as a student. Then look at the baseball. A great baseball fit at a school he can’t stay in is not a fit.
Academic money is often the real scholarship. Athletic baseball dollars are split thinner than the brochure. A kid who can learn is a kid a coach can keep.
